Kirsten and Jeff had an afternoon ceremony at St. Mary’s Catholic church in downtown Austin, Texas. We then drove out to Lakeway for the reception at Vintage Villas.

I’ve decided to branch out in my portrait efforts and try my hand at senior sessions. They are a bit different than weddings because they are more about the person and their identity. I do miss the emotional aspect from a wedding, but it’s fun because you enter someone else’s environment 1 on 1 and you try to figure out what’s important to them and capture them in their lifestyle.
My cousin Sabrina has a son named Philip who’s graduating from high school this year from Port Barre High School in Port Barre, Louisiana. We had a beautiful day for weather. Philip did a great job, despite we had a 3-hour session and guys his age don’t really care to be photographed for that long. It was awesome to capture him and all of his hobbies, including being heavily involved in FFA at the state and national level, playing guitar and fiddle, hunting, his love for cajun music and helping his dad rebuild a 1965 kick-butt shelby cobra and restoring it to mint condition! I got to take a ride in it and IT WAS A RUSH! I think it’s like 600hp in that little bitty car!
I wish him all of the best as he plans to attend LSUE (LSU-Eunice) in pursuit of a degree in criminal justice.
Here’s some of the fun portraits that we captured.

Well, the 2008 wedding season is off and away for us! Beth and Brian were our first awesome couple of the year, and we had the best time with them at Kindred Oaks. Even though we had cooler temperatures at night, this did not stop them from having a rockin’ reception! Even the DJ got on the dance floor for a few songs!
I grew so attached to this couple and their families. I’ve been knowing them for over a year now, and it was great to see everything come together for their wedding day. Elaine and the folks out at Kindred Oaks did an awesome job of running everything, and the all went well. Brian, the groom, gave the best gift to Beth, his bride, that I have ever seen – a teddy bear from ‘Build-a-Bear’ with a personalized message. I just loved watching Beth’s response when she played the recorded message from the Bear.
Here’s only a few of the awesome moments that we captured.
