3rd place winner in ROFL at ISPWP

So, I joined a new Professional Wedding Photographer’s Forum that is fairly new called the International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers or ISPWP.  It has an amazing assortment of photographers from all over the world.  They just had a contest for wedding photographs, and I entered in one of my favorites and it placed 3rd in the ROFL category.  I was pretty excited and honored to be placed among the world’s best photographers.  This image is from a wedding that we captured last May with Sancha and James at Villa Antonia in Lake Travis, Texas.  The image can be seen here (click to comment).

kelly and kevin’s wedding at first united methodist church in austin, texas and university of texas stadium club in austin, texas

Kelly and Kevin started off the day at First United Methodist Church in Austin, Texas.  It was beautiful, yet warm and humid day.  Thank GOODNESS that the church had the AC going full-blast!  This was a very emotional ceremony because Kelly’s dad could not make it to the ceremony because he passed away last April.  So, her grandfather walked her down the aisle instead.  After the ceremony, we then went over for a big celebration at the University of Texas Stadium Club. It was decorated with Yellow Roses, which of course, symbolize the ‘Yellow Rose of Texas’.  Kevin even gave Kelly a single yellow rose for the first dance, as well as the bridesmaid dresses were canary yellow.  My friend and fellow wedding photographer Pam Hults of Hults Photography did an awesome job of helping me out for this wedding.

I wish this couple the best!

jennifer t. and brian’s wedding at vista on seward hill in austin, texas

Jennifer and Brian started out the day getting ready at the Vista on Seward Hill. They both live and work in Africa (as in the continent, Africa) and it’s the place that they met while working as defense contractors.  They flew in back home to get married so that their family and friends could take part in their special day.

The cutest part of the day was a ‘zebra’-style grooms cake.  It was unique and even came with it’s own tail!  The story behind it is that when Jennifer and Brian first talked on the phone, she asked him what does he do for a living in Africa, and he said ‘Oh, I kill zebras!’ – OF COURSE, he was just kidding! haha.

Here are some of the awesome moments that we captured.

stephenie and david’s wedding at bella notte on main, round rock, texas

Stephenie and David started out and ended the day at Bella Notte on Main, in Round Rock, Texas. The wanted to see each other before the ceremony, and it was very touching and emotional.

Stephenie also surprised David with a groom’s cake, which was a big surprise.  He’s a big fan of the Texas Rangers, and she got a baseball field cake made for him, as well as get two personally-autographed baseballs from two of their all-star players!  How special is that?

Another awesome couple in love and it showed.  I’m glad that we photographed this wedding.
