Bio

I am Michael Hooks and I am the owner/primary photographer of Hooked On Photography. I’m originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, but now I have transplanted to Austin, Texas and have been here since 1999. I do miss the people and the food from Louisiana, but I don’t miss the roads and I don’t miss the politics. I lost my accent somewhat since moving here, but I get it right back when I cross the Sabine river when going back home to visit.

I enjoy politics (though I don’t talk about it on the job and it’s hard not to), movies, TV, spending time with family (in Louisiana), reading, fixing people’s computer problems and cooking awesome cajun food. I am awesome at multi-tasking, too.

I love Coke Zero and encourage everyone to drink it – no matter how many holes it is going to create in my brain 30 years from now with all of the aspartame in it. I tried Diet Coke with splenda, but it always left a bad aftertaste in my mouth. How come this seems like a single’s ad for dating? I don’t know! Enjoy my blog!
