Brooke and Kris’s wedding, Four Seasons Hotel in Austin, Texas

For this awesome wedding, we truly went all across Texas (or it felt like it!).  The bride invited us to start capturing their wedding day story at her parent’s house in Leander.  It was great because we were able to see the room she grew up in, as well as see her getting her hair done.  Brooke wasn’t hardly nervous at all, either.  I really had a great opportunity to develop a great relationship with the bride and her mother, and it was great to see ‘where they came from’.

Once she finished getting her hair done, Brooke and the girls went over to First United Methodist Church in Round Rock, Texas, for the ceremony.  It’s a beautiful church with a fairly-new sanctuary.  The church really had a great amount of natural light, which allowed for some really great portraits and candids.  We met up with Kris and the guys at the church and hung out with them a little, too.  These guys had been pretty busy that day, with having a paintball match that morning and playing a few rounds of golf in the morning.

The ceremony was great, and Visual Lyrics did a really beautiful job with the flowers and arrangements.  The ceremony was unique in that both her pastor and his mom presided over the ceremony.  Brooke looked stunning in her dress.  Kris wore some cuff-links that were given to him by Brooke and even got a massage from his dad before the wedding.

We then were off to the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Austin. Since it was such great weather outside, I was able to grab about 5 minutes of time for a quick portrait session down by the waterfront on Lake Austin.  It was boiling hot outside (ok, not boiling, but definitely in the 90′s), so we didn’t stay too long.  After that, we went inside to party with (in my opinion) the best live band for weddings in Austin, ‘The Big Time’.  This band is so awesome because they keep people dancing the ENTIRE night for EVERY song.  This is the second wedding that we have done with them, and they keep getting better and better.

Brooke and Kris are both TCU grads, and Kris had a unique cake with the mascot on-top (see below).  They both are very proud of their school, and he wears his graduation ring proudly.  His other hand now has some competition, though.  TCU is also where they both met, and where she now works.  It was fun for Brooke, too, because she got married in the church that she grew up in and many of her TCU alumni friends were able to make it for the wedding.

It was great to see another couple who really love each other.

Here’s Kris taking a peak at his mom during prayer.

 Here’s that frog!

Not to be mean, but I was thinking ‘why couldn’t his best man here (Kris had two best men) give the baby to his wife?’  Oh well, I guess raising a child is a full-time job.

Here’s one of the singers of the Big Time band.  He broke out the cow bell later in the night, too.  I know when I have a fever, the only prescription is MORE COWBELL.

One of the singers of the band does a great job of getting the crowd involved, too.
