It was great to walk around and see our work portrayed not only in our booths, but in many of the vendors that we have worked with in the past year, such as Vintage Villas, The Terrace Club, Vista West Ranch, Wildflower Cakes, Lakeway Resort and Spa, Kindred Oaks, Arbor Pointe Event Center, Bella Notte on Main, and Amanda Pye of Austin Makeup Design. Barr Mansion also has a display album, but since it’s so big, they left it back at the Mansion, so future clients can check it out there.

We started out the day capturing them both getting ready, and Stan was a bit nervous.  All of that tension eased once his bride came down the steps.  It was a gorgeous day and very windy.  This came in REALLY handy because she had a huge veil, and I always say ‘the bigger, the better’!  We then captured the beautiful sunset ceremony and the couple got whisked away to the reception to the sounds of The Grooves, a local wedding band that’s awesome.

Also, The Terrace Club has this wedding as one of their premier weddings on their website.

Here’s some of the fun and details that we captured.

We started off the day by Melissa arriving at the Terrace Club to get ready.  Mike and the fellas arrived shortly thereafter.  We were then off to the races because they had to all get ready, grab some family portraits before-hand, and sign the Ketubah (a marriage contract for a Jewish wedding).  I really loved the artwork of the Ketubah that they purchased, and I know it will look beautiful in their home.  The ceremony was a beautiful sunset wedding held under a chuppah (canopy), and the cantor played background music throughout the ceremony to keep the mood.  We then went and partied the night away.  Hunter and the gals at the Terrace Club did a fantastic job of keeping everything on schedule, too.

I really enjoyed the close family atmosphere at this wedding.  Mike had relatives come from as far as Argentina and Mexico, while Melissa had relatives come from as far as Australia.  Even though they don’t see these folks every day, it seemed like they all just saw each other yesterday.

The couple did have so much fun visiting with all of their guests and almost ran out of time for the Hora (a traditional dance of celebration is done. The dance most widely known is when the bride and groom are lifted in chairs on the shoulders of their guests.)

This is another couple that I am really honored to get to know.  Here are just a few of the precious moments that we were able to capture.

We will see this awesome couple again in few weeks at the Terrace Club in Dripping Springs.

Emily at the Terrace Club really did a great job of making the last-minute change to move the ceremony inside, and the bride and groom did not let this last-minute move get them down to much and hamper their day.

It was challenging for me, too, because I had to prepare to do take group portraits for either an inside OR an outside background. Since we had to move inside because of the rain, I had to work around a lot of obstacles, such as seating, folks walking in, people getting the ceremony/reception room ready, etc. In the end, we captured some amazing images.

The ceremony was was special to the couple and Martin even started to tear a bit when Carlie walked down the aisle. Her dress was beautiful, elegant and it flattered her figure well.

The most unique event about this wedding, besides the rain, was the most unique groom’s cake that I have ever seen. It wasn’t really a cake, but instead a bunch of candy decorated as a cake. Martin apparently has a sweet tooth, and Carlie decided to make a cake as a surprise for him for their wedding.  I’m so excited that they chose us to be their Austin Wedding Photographer.  The slideshow from the wedding can be found here.

I will admit there was a bit of humidity, and I almost felt like I was back in Louisiana. There was a nice cool breeze that popped in and out, but it could have stayed longer.

Kelly did a great job of having fun and bringing out the best in Stan. This couple and my wife and I both share something in common – our spouse’s birthday is on the same day as ours AND it’s five years apart – how unique is that?

I’m so excited that they chose us to be their Austin Wedding Photographer.  We’ll see this cute couple again towards the end of the year at The Terrace Club.

This cute couple had a lot of fun, and did a great job of being themselves behind the camera in such a busy environment as a restaurant. You can definitely tell that they are really in love and it was exciting to see them interact together naturally.

After the meal, we then walked around town, and hung out for a few more minutes and just captured some natural moments. You can get to know more about this couple at their website. We will see them again in October at The Terrace Club.

This lovely weather provided an awesome opportunity for a lovely bridal session that we captured for Sarah H. We’re looking forward to her wedding in early March to Chris at the Terrace Club. She was an awesome model, and we had a lot of fun. We ran around the UT Union Building, Battle Hall (next to UT Tower) and we took some lifestyle portraits on the steps of the Tower.
